the MSI version is 10$ more and better

For AMD GPUs. MSI, Sapphire or XFX are the best for me. :) MSI if going for a red themed build HAHA

XFX cards are not that bad though. I like my XFX 290. That and the XFX card doesn't take up 2.5 slots like the MSI card does. I would get an MSI card but I'm not sure if it will fit in my SG05.

Edit: Oh, I thought this was a 390X. Then it would be a sweet deal, but eh.

Please tell me you're running a custom fan curve. The XFX R9 290 stock fan curve never goes over 40% and leads to VRM overheating and throttling when left stock. That's the only downside of the card, and for many people who don't know how or don't want to, it's a deal breaker.

Yep it almost takes up 3 slots with the big ass heatsink and the plastic shroud.

On my 290 reference? Nope, stock fan curve. I set the temp limit to 80C and it still doesn't get loud. I had replaced the stock thermal paste which did a nice job, and my VRMs (even with my OC) hover around 50C when I'm stress testing.
