What to upgrade first? CPU or GPU? (main game CS:GO)

Hazenga
How much fps would I get with all low settings in CS:GO?

Right now I have a AMD R7 Radeon 200 series and i3 4160 CPU

What should I upgrade to get the best fps in CS:GO?

GTA V is 30-50fps atm with all settings lowest.

CS:GO 150-250fps atm

Main game is CS:GO though.

I suggest getting a R9 380 for the future upgrade since, GTX 750ti is kinda outdated now

Intel Core i5 - 6400 <> Msi B150A Gaming Pro <> Msi Gtx 970 Gaming <> G.Skill Ripjaw 4 16Gb DDR4 2400mhz

<> Corsair CX500M <> 160 & 250 Seagate HDD <> Aerocool Strike X (Casing) <>

Your card can't possibly be that bad at the moment.

Use GPU-Z to check the actual GPU.

I get like 30fps in Gta V

Not really worth the upgrade, I'd just wait for the next generation of products.

Might add this later...

The i3 is perfectly fine, the 750ti is a great budget GPU and you'll be smashing CSGO. If you can check out EVGA B Stock and get either a 750ti or 760.

Which R7 card do you have? Your card could be a 240, 250, 250X, 260, 265, 260X.

If you could be specific we could understand.

Also, follow your threads and use the quote button, or else people can't see you replied.

No such thing as a 200.

Install and run GPU-Z, it tells you in-depth information about your GPU.

For example my R9 280X is listed as a R9 200 series.

Yes. You can get a better GPU later. CS;GO is more CPU intensive than GPU.

Well? :)

Get a new GPU 1st. If 200 Eur is your budget, get an R9 380x. An i5 + a low end R7 is an unbalanced build. i3 + better GPU makes more sense. You're already getting 150 - 250 fps in CSGO which is well above your 144 Hz monitor, so I'm not sure why you think you need an improvement there.

100fps, CSGO CPU dependant for 750ti

Okay I'm confused now, half says get a new CPU first, other half says get a new GPU first.. And I'm still here lost. Can everyone each say now "Get the CPU first" or the other way around, and why.

My CS:GO fps is 150-250fps, GTA V for example 30-40 fps with 1920x1080 res. Some other games are aswell still below 60fps. Hope it's clear now.
