Yes... even 4GB is enough unless you going run well over 10tabs chrome.

It will work well than enough, i would get better PSU. (http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/406160-psu-ranking-and-tiers\)

Hi guyz,

What budget what country?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Even though a dual core is really getting outdated, it will be able to handle all of those things. (If multimedia just means watching videos). Provided you run at a normal resolution ofcourse.

You are bound to get comments to not buy the Corsair CX. The CX is good enough to power this rig albeit not the best you can get for the money.

EDIT: Remember that for $100 extra you can get an i5, which makes the the rig a lot more futureproof and upgradeable to a gaming pc with a cheap used GPU.
EDIT2: Follow your own topic.

My Rig:

Model: P650RG | Brand: Clevo | CPU: 6700HQ | GPU: 980M | RAM: 16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X DDR4 | SSD: 2x 480GB Kingston KC300 | Screen: 3K Panasonic IPS LED

Hi guyz,

Your best bet is probably going to be an AM1 based build, but that depends on the availability of parts a 3850 or higher is what you'd want without spending too much on it

You could have proposed sticking a potato in a case and it would be adequate for those tasks.

I really don't think you can go far wrong with those requirements, to be honest.

  • maybe you could switch the CPU out with something a little cheaper. The anniversary edition is not worth it for a home PC. Get the non overclockable pentium instead. Bit cheaper. Or even go with a AM1 build.
  • Don't worry too much about the motherboard. Just get one with a HDMI port and from a reputable manufacturer.
  • 4gb of ram will be enough unless you are a bit of a tab whore or like to keep a lot of programs running at the same time. 8gb DDR3 is still cheap and is not a bad option tho
  • maybe look at getting a SSD as it will boost your performance in terms of boot time and how fast thing open and close which is very important for a home PC. maybe 480gb?

Have a great day and tell me what you think :)
