How many people have off shelf pc and whats the specs of it im being honest too heres mine

 

HP P7 1234 (i know they could of have a better name)

 

AMD A6 3650 APU

 

Propiritarty motherboard

 

Hp power supply (300W)

 

Integrated radeon graphics(check The apu specs)

 

random cooler master fan 

 

7200 RPM (i think WD) barracuda drive

 

And lastly a potato (jk)

Intel HD 2000, 4GB RAM, I3 sandybridge, and other trash specs

The worst part about it was that it was designated as a "gaming PC" by the store i bought it from, and i didnt know better at the time

Irrelevant question, that's literally what everyone starts with. How else do you think we got into building our own computers anyway, also school would require us to have one in the frst place. I think a question that would be better asked is,"How many people have actually bought a prebuilt AFTER you've built your own computer?"

Bought my PC as a package that I slowly rebuilt and improved... It was cheaper by 4k PhP compared to buying piece by piece...

I still have an old compaq prebuilt, although it's in the basement and I haven't used it in years. Athlon 64 X2 3600+, 2GB DDR2, graphics on the motherboard, 250GB HDD and loud as a lawnmower.

Not really.. Well, my PC was made by a store, but it was not like a HP or a Dell. It was a pre made combo, but I was able to alter it a bit (not as if that made it any better).

It also just uses regular components, no proprietary motherboard or whatever

My friend built his first ever PC, his parents have only owned laptops before he built a computer.

 

He's the only person I know who's been like that other than me. My first PC (which is now my PC, though every old part is gone so it's a new PC) was a custom built computer from my dad's office when they were upgrading. The PC I used before was another custom built from my dad (not from his office, it was for him to use.) I also used lots of laptops.

macbook air, specs in my sig, not too good, but it does everything i want except for gaming and video editing, that's why i have my other pc

What is the point of your post? He was curious about how many people are using off the shelf PC's for whatever reason.

Maybe finances are tight for some people and they dont have the time to build something for themselves.

 

People are allowed to be curious and ask whatever they want.
