Quicksilver

patrickjp93

Like everything else my family builds, it's way over the top for the use case, but hopefully that means it just lasts 7+ years doing that same thing like all of our other builds have :D

All pics taken with an iPhone 6 in a room with no good lighting (sorry in advance).

The case is a vintage Lian Li PC-G70

Up front we have a CD/DVD/Blu-Ray reader and writer courtesy of LG, a reservoir courtesy of AquaComputer, and the NZXT Sentry Mix 2 fan controller. The floppy is there for no other reason than the 2.5" drive bay face plate has gone missing.

Is this way too little equipment for a full tower case? Yes. However, we don't throw away anything in my family until its usefulness is totally up, so the cases stay. Is this way too powerful of a computer for someone who only plays Guild Wars 2, Civilization 5, and Medieval II Total War, and then browses the internet? Yes, yes it is. This was complete and total overkill, but still a beautiful build for me personally. Originally the motor resonated with the case, badly. Using a thin block of Styrofoam, that was cancelled out, and now it's totally silent. Huzzah!

I may overclock this at a later point, but currently I'm not interested.

Even for low light those pics look eh

Hopefully you get better pics soon :)

Not a bad rig at all, if at most, a bit cliche but eh what can you do about it

It's not so much low light as I have yellow walls and an off-white chandelier to deal with. Not much I can do until it's moved to its final resting place :P

Stability could have been better in some, but when I have better light I'll get better pics.
