Fallout 4 is okay but it's rather buggy even now, terminal bug is so fucking annoying the only reason I have F5 bound to my middle mouse button.

Why would you need to rebind F5?  It's already a dedicated button.

I struggle to immerse myself in video games with the hectic life that I have, but Skyrim literally took me to borderline addiction...

 

...until I ruined it for myself by using commands to get a house faster.

FO4 isn't really that good at what it's "supposed' to be. STALKER, Metro, Nox and New Vegas are far superior RPGs

Yeah, It dumbed down the mechanics so badly, I kinda wished they used New Vegas' mechanics just with the fresh coat of paint, as New Vegas was the most fun I've had with a fallout game.

Metro is fairly linear which isn't for me (though it's still fun just prefer NV it beats 4 though by a fair bit), as for stalker I haven't played it nor seen it played, the thing with fallout 4 is the new mechanics ruin the game, as I got to a point where I killed all the settlers so they'd stop giving me the same fetch quest over and over again.

I have 63 hours on skyrim and i just cant enjoy the game anymore, mods helped but the combat put me off. I favor first person shooters and thats why fallout 4 is so appealing, an open world with skyrim elements but the clunky sword combat is replaced with guns. Im sure ill love the game, no doubt about that. But i also love the battlefield series. I had BF4 on PS3 back when i hadnt hopped into PC but i barely played it due to EA being EA. I did like the game tho and did play it for a week or two but the crashing, glitches, connection issues etc. just drove me away and Id love to give the game a second chance now that its fixed at 1080p 60fps ultra and 64 player MP.

Man. For me, Battlefield 4, easy. If you loved Skyrim, then Fallout 4 could be a contender. But I found Skyrim to be boring (though pretty), and I don't really find Fallout 4 to be a lot more interesting than Skyrim.

 

I've put a lot of hours into Battlefield 4, though, and it's still a game I can load up and have a good time playing, just as much as many hours ago.

 

They're different styles of games, so maybe think about which of their previous versions gave you the most enjoyment. Battlefield 4 is better than Battlefield 3, but I don't know that I'd say that Fallout 4 is better than Skyrim or Fallout 3.

Let me state that I am both a fan of Bethesda and of Battlefield games.

 

My vote is BF4. The game play is still very solid even after all this time. It's optimized really well to almost that of Star Wars Battlefront so even a shitty PC can run it and look great. It's got a large and active community with many servers for US and EU. There are some minor barriers to entry due to lack of kit and skill but they give you free guns that level the playing field A LOT. On sale the premium version is $20 which is extremely reasonable.

 

I don't think highly of FO4 and had only reasonable and medium tier expectations of it and it couldn't even meet those. They played the game of relying on modders to complete their game more than ever before and the use of repeatable quests to fill out time, most of which are fast and easy to do.The factions were done a little better this time around but the main one you're FORCED into feels really lacking in terms of actual story and content. The main quest itself is easily forgettable so much so that you can be side tracked easily and if just hardlined you can beat it in less than 6 hours. The gameplay is basically a pure FPS with a lack of a repair system outside the disgustingly OP power armor in which you can get the second best type without even trying at borderline any level. It's also easy as hell to stock pile so many resources you can basically do what ever you want and make everything extremely OP. Also full auto weapons are so useless it hurts, semi autos DESTROY them in terms of DPS and outright damage. The textures are also less visually appealing than even basic Skyrim and good luck running them past medium. It requires a heavy set of .ini alterations, texture optimizers and digging into CCC to alter tessellation to make it run smoothly. Oh and it's un optimized as fuck. Barely breaking 60FPS at 60% GPU usage and 40% CPU usage? Are you fucking kidding me?
