Hi,

I have a 7850 OC and need a new gpu for the newer games.

I was thinking a r9 290 but the standard fan is crappy.

So my budget is 300 euro, probably going to buy off newegg. Any suggestions?

Also, I dont mind if its Nvidia or AMD. I just dont want to be ripped off :)

I don't know how to do a mail-in rebate or what it does (do you just pay full price and then get a bit of money back for some reason?).  Also, I just looked and which of these would be the better buy?

I wouldn't know that since I don't live in the US.

As for the gpus, I don't have any experience with powercolor or xfx but I think the community in generally likes them. As for the gigabyte one, its nice and everything but its voltage is locked so you can't oc it as much

I just checked the gtx 970 price and it is a close price to the 390. Is the 390 much better than the 970?

Not "much" but yes by a few frames yes. But the gap will probably increase cuz 8 vs 3.5gb vram. also dx12 seems good for amd
