Overclocking my monitor

bpw87

So I went out and brought a dual link DVI cable and installed Precision X and had a crack at overclocking my shitty cheap ASUS monitor. Planning on upgrading it soon but I thought I would have a go and see if I can get any real fps gains... Sadly I only got 6hz, now I have a 66hz monitor anything more and the picture looses focus or goes out of range. I'm pretty happy with a 10% increase but is there anything else I can do to help get more frames or other software to try?

one thing you could test is if it works better when using a costum resolution (setting a higer Hz trough it) in Controll panel :)

I gave it a try and found that 1440x900 @75hz works pretty well. Even though it sounds like a weird resolution it scales really well and is a fairly good picture quality.
