Budget pc, need help to decrease price

VChampZ

Hey guys i am building a new pc because my laptop is getting out of date and would like some feed back on the parts selection.

http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/kdzpCJ

I am from New Zealand so everything is more expensive (I think) I would like to overclock but i dont have the budget. I mainly play Dota, CSGO but i also like battlefront, battlefield and then other single player games.

Any feedback would be helpful

Hmmm, at .65 U.S. dollars per NZD, that comes to about $1270 U.S.

Yes, that is a bit more than the U.S. prices for the same equipment.  For example - that GTX 970 price comes to $374.37 U.S.

pcpartpicker (same link as yours, without the nz. prefix) shows the same item here for $318.49 before a $20 rebate and $20 promo code.

Ouch

To trim prices, I'd look for a simpler (read cheaper) case that comes with fans.  If you are trying to cram as much stuff in to as small a case as possible, that's a great case, but the higher concentration of heat requires better cooling.  Your power supply is also more than you need unless you hope to go SLI later on.  I'm not sure about the availability of parts in New Zealand, but that looks like a pretty solid build overall, but you can shave some off here and there:

CPU - won't save much until you drop to an i3 - forget that!

memory - check out the Kingston Fury Red: http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-memory-hx318c10frk28, save about $15

SSD - not much savings until you drop to a 120GB - w/o a hard drive for more storage, 240GB should be the minimum.

Video - for a GTX 970, that's about the best price/performance sweet spot - no change.

Case - Zalman Z3 plus: http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/part/zalman-case-z3plus, $84 and includes fans, saves about $140

PSU - damn, there just aren't any inexpensive PSU's in NZ in the 500-650W range, no change ><.

Monitor - Viewsonic va2246m-led: http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/part/viewsonic-monitor-va2246mled, saves about $60 (and is actually a better reviewed monitor, to boot ; )

That will save you around $215 without substantially compromising the quality of the build.

Hope that helps!
