i have a $20 steam gift card and if i bought cs go for $7 wouldn't i get it for free basically?

This works for all ways on currency, if someone buys it for you or you buy it, you/they are paying for it

i mean you payed for the gift card its using your money technically . but yes i guess. if use the GC money not from like your bank or anything

a gift card is just like putting money on a account to use. if someone gives it you it its like your parents giving you $20 to go the to store to buy something. its their money not yours. so if you look at it like that i guess its free for you.
