I've had an HP monitor that came with a prebuilt HP since 2009..how should i update?

Hmm maybe go for a 27" 1440p monitor? I have a 780ti and it runs everything fine at 1440p, 

 

or you could get a nice 144hz 1080p monitor

I heard people who've upgraded from 1080 to 1440 say they will never go back to 1080 because of how much of a jump it is, I'd rather have something future proof, also if I hs a hdmi port thats a plus because I also have a console.

well I use the AOC Q2770PQU, its a samsung PLS (like ips) panel, 60hz 1440p, and its really nice for gaming and working on
