Best size for a 1080p monitor?

For 1080p I personally wouldn't go over 24" :) (which is also the size I recommend)

With my hardware (GTX 970, Intel Quad core) it's probably time to upgrade from my 18" 1366p monitor. However i am having trouble deciding on what size of monitor. I have decided on 1080p but don't know if the pixel density is too much on a 27" monitor.

 

 

I sit around 26" from my monitor.

 

 

what are your recommendations.

 

also i will use this monitor primarily for gaming and watching movies

Between 20-25 inches sized monitors.

That's a very close viewing distance, I would probably go with 22"

Anywhere from 22 to 24 inches is a sweet spot IMO.

Looks great! It isn't IPS which means viewing angles won't be the best (but in my honest opinion it's not worth the extra money :) )

I would recommend 22~24 inches for a 1080p monitor that's a normal distance away from you.

To me, entirely subjective, I have a 43" TV that I have used as a monitor and it worked fine, although it does strain your eyes.

I personally use a 24" monitor though, while I could use a 27" it was what was offered at the time, works well and does fine, just remember the bigger the screen bigger the stretch of pixels.

Easiest way to decide is to look at the screen and size, pick from that.
