Quick question. 6400 or 6500? Would the extra .7Ghz really make a difference?

A fairly smallish difference but it's not to be ignored, you could overclock if it's unlocked.

700MHz won't be an earth shattering difference. I personally wouldn't do it just because it's not worth the money IMO.

Neither of those CPUs are unlocked, although you can BCLK overclock them, but not by much. In terms of gaming, the extra 0.7GHz is useful imo.

The difference is proportion aka

6400 and 6500 what? If you're talking about the amd CPUs then they aren't .7ghz apart. it's 3.5Ghz vs 3.9Ghz

Actually they are both lower than that, but you are right they aren't that far apart (.4 Ghz when both are in full turbo)

To op: About 10% difference in performance @swek

Since it's only 10$ difference, it's definitely worth it. 6500 is the best bang for the buck i5 at the moment in my opinion.

Ahh, I'm used to AMD but I'm switching to Intel when I can, thnx for correcting me.
