So I have a pretty okay TV in my room that I like to use to watch Netflix or YouTube when I'm in bed. I'd like to start gaming on it as soon as I get a bigger TV (as it's only 25"), but I'm not sure how I should go about doing this. Right now I have it running on a PC with:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Black Edition

OEM mobo from HP

4GB DDR2

PNY GT 610

320GB 2.5" HDD

220W TFX PSU (also from HP)

It's all mounted to a wood board and it sits on the entertainment center I put together. Right now it's running Ubuntu. Should I:

Get a PS4.

Get an Xbox One.

Install SteamOS on the PC and stream games from my rig in my signature (my Internet is shit though).

Upgrade the system to something a bit more powerful (probably a new mobo to OC the CPU and an R7 260/GTX 750).

What do you think? Suggestions?

Why would you need to install SteamOS? You can just install steam on Ubuntu and use big picture mode. Also, your internet doesn't effect Steam in home streaming, you simply need a fairly decent local network, but even 2.4Ghz wifi is fine for 720p streaming.

Well, If you really want to relax, use a controller and not upgrade, Id say a Console. Not all PC games have support for controller (yes the mainstream AAA titles do) but considering your system specs, you'd be better off with a Console unless you upgrade, so Id say Console. Which console you choose Is totally up to you. The APU In the PS4 Is 10% better than the APU In the XBone so It might be a little bit more powerful, however I chose the Xbox One beacuse of Gears of War :P

I'd honestly say just get a console, it'll be cheaper in the end and you'll get the chance to play some console exclusive. As for which one I'd go with PS4 if it were mostly for gaming but if it's for an even amount of everything the Xbox One. Tomb Raider is coming out for Xbox One soon too so you don't have to wait a year to play it on PC x'D

Well I really want to stream PC games to the Xbone, that's why I was even considering it. Is that even a feature yet?

It's not bad for downloading but the upload speed is only 1-2Mbps. Downloads are 18Mbps to 22Mbps depending on the time of day.

I'd try streaming games (PC) assuming your network can handle it  as it doesn't cost you anything, and your down is fine as you said, plus if it's through a network your internet speeds don't matter.

get a PS4 or PC Upgrade  ^_^

Why PS4? Yes the APU In the PS4 Is 10% more powerful than the one In the XBone but he shouldnt shop by brand, he should look at which exclusives each platform has to offer, and If he wants to play with his friends or not (depending on which platform they play on).

Yeah I could, the thing is, I'm worried about latency and overall quality. My Internet up speeds are terrible.

I edited my previous post about that, it's your local network that needs to be adequate, not your internet, you are streaming from your other PC across your local network, not across the internet.

If you're concerned about crappy wifi or whatever, get some cheap Poweline Adapters, or run an Ethernet cable.

If you have a decent router or a hardline run to both systems with a gigabit connection you don't need good internet streaming to the second connection :P

In house streaming is only over a LAN! :) Just like @aesrock said like 4 times  :P

From the Steam Website

"When you play a game using In-Home Streaming, video and audio are sent through your home network from your high-end gaming PC to another device in your home."

And like @theereal said you couldn't stream to a console yet

I would just install Steam-OS and possibly upgrade your network solution :) Or just run hard lines to your router for each system, streaming won't be a problem then :P

I say get a PS4. Their exclusives are really nice, and it would be far more comfortable from your bed than a computer.
