Yes it does. This is why I went with a GTX980ti. I use all 6gb when playing GTA V so to all the people saying you won't need more then 4gb, they are liars

Eh, I don't use any of that crap often enough to tell. I still didn't like Shadowplay. I don't like the Raptr App either.

K well it's going to use over 3.5GB, so if you SLI 970s, you're basically screwed.

 

I don't even use it, I don't see why AMD even implemented it, OBS is way better. Shadowplay sucks too.

Shadowplay is pretty great, I love it. I use it all the time, I've noticed no performance loss when using it.

Unless you're playing at a resolution higher than 1080p, there's no way in hell you're using 6gb of VRAM in GTA. Pics please.

Agreed. I have a new 980ti and I just got GTA5.  To be honest, I didn't memorize the exact number, but it sure as hell wasn't over 4. I think it was 3.2ish.

exactly, has i said in my previous post that moved very quickly i game at 1440p on a 3GB card and have no issues what so ever, some games do fill all my VRAM and then that's it...it won't change anything...some games just love to fill more vram if it's there but if it's not there they will deal with it otherwise.

When I had a 970 on hand I ran Watch Dogs at 4k (it's VRAM hungry as we all know) and I didn't notice any significant performance drops that people were claiming the card would have when it went into the second partition of slow VRAM - nothing that would be tied to VRAM anyways.

Not true.

I have 2GB Cards in SLI and at 1080p in GTA 5 on Max Settings (high textures, everything else high / ultra) I see a solid 75-80 FPS.

Well my game must be different or something but I have it maxed with 8xmsaa and distance scaling maxed out as well

Thats why i use it! lol obs and fraps drop 20 frames off my game and stutter it.

Like I said I barely use them enough to like them. Either way the Raptr app sucks ass, I never install it, but I have to admit my AMD drivers (that are beta) are WAY more stable than Nvidia's. When I had my 760(s) I had SO many problems and ever since I switched I've been loving it.

Coming from someone who knows OBS decently, it's pretty damn good. My shitbox can actually record Grid 2 with the VCE encoder on OBS at a stable 30+ FPS!

 

I've also used OBS a lot and Shadowplay beats it significantly.

Also with my 2GB GTX 960's even if a game needs to use more than 2GB's of VRAM it'll work just fine as the GPU quickly swaps in and out the stuff that it needs.

Well for one you currently have a 980 Ti.

 

Two, anyone with an Nvidia card who isn't insane will be using TXAA or manually enable MFAA and not use 8xMSAA.

When I had a 970 on hand I ran Watch Dogs at 4k (it's VRAM hungry as we all know) and I didn't notice any significant performance drops that people were claiming the card would have when it went into the second partition of slow VRAM - nothing that would be tied to VRAM anyways.

because the VRAM is there on your card the game love to fill it up with useless shit...that's why.

If you would have only 3GB of VRAM, the game would fill it all up and the performance would still be the same...you must be VERY vram starved for it to introduce stutters and slowdowns in games.

I've used them, I just had some crappy experiences with ShadowPlay, and Nvidia drivers in general.

The driver experience is a your-mileage-may-vary thing. I had driver crashes for weeks with Nvidia's drivers before, and I went between the new one and old one and saw no difference.

Meaning Shadowplay, if you have an Nvidia card and can use it, is the superior option for streaming to Twitch, hands down. It isn't as strenuous on the system, even at 60fps.

I haven't a SINGLE problem with my 290 or it's drivers, but all four of my Nvidia cards had some sort of driver issue, not infrequently but VERY frequently. Like I couldn't play BF4 a lot of times until I restarted, and don't get me started on Windows 10 and the nightmare I had then.

 

Btw, those Nvidia cards are a PNY GT 610 (for my Netflix PC, and even that had problems with drivers, although not as much), an EVGA 750 Ti (card was great, drivers were good until Windows 10 came along), ASUS GTX 760 (had the while I had 10, crashed a SHIT ton), and an MSI GTX 760 (same as the ASUS, although slightly louder).

Once again you're an isolated case of problems, from what I've seen tons of people have had zero issues with NV drivers as well as MSX. Maybe it's just the combination of hardware you have?

Yes it does. This is why I went with a GTX980ti. I use all 6gb when playing GTA V so to all the people saying you won't need more then 4gb, they are liars

I dont think they are liars...  They just are not running what seems to be a 1440p-4k, ultra setup...
