It's by invitation only, I'm not sure what to think about this as some people are horrible with money and this could trap those people in debt, on the other hand it's hard to get money for equipment on a venture like youtube

Depends on the terms of the financial agreement.  If it's less then you could get at a bank yourself, or with a co-signer, then cool.  If not, then not cool.  If it's creditcard rates then run away and make sure no one else walks into the burning building.  If you've been given an invite and got the quote, take it to the bank and try for better.

Just get a loan from a bank or finance your gear from a store, this is a pointless service

Just get a loan from a bank or finance your gear from a store, this is a pointless service

 

Unless you already have a pretty large following you are probably going to struggle to get a bank to give you a loan to build your channel.

 

However, I do agree that it's a pointless service.

Why? I can just log onto my bank and get a personal loan, i dont need a reason, just go get 5 -10 grand and pay it back over a few years or whatever

 

 

depends on the conditions of the contract

 

 

Personal loans dont really have any... I can (and have in the past) just logged onto my HSBC account applied for a £2000 and had it sent to me next day, I pay a small % interest ( was like 6%) and I paid it back over 2 years

This is great for Youtube! You will get rich squeakers thinking COD will get them famous and spend 10K on their channel to realize NO ONE CARES! Then Youtube just made 10K EZPZ

Personal loans dont really have any... I can (and have in the past) just logged onto my HSBC account applied for a £2000 and had it sent to me next day, I pay a small % interest ( was like 6%) and I paid it back over 2 years

any sizable Personal Loan at a decent rate yeah i mean its pretty easy to walk in and get a personal loan under 5 grand IMO but obviously everyone has different credit situations that affect this majorly but i would imagine this youtube finacing venture isnt going to give you much more then a personal bank approves you for since they will still base it off credit unless they are directly taking the payments from adsense or something that will give them more of an incentive to give you more money or lower interest rate

What kind of retarded company would lend money to people who don't qualify with credit. As with all loans, you're going to need a credit check, and if you don't have a good credit history, you will need someone who does to cosign with you.(So if you can't pay it, they will have to)

If mortgages were not a thing almost everyone would be renting. Say a family of 4 want a 3 bedroom fairly standard semi detached. At least in the UK that is like £300k, most people simply cannot afford that sort of money upfront.

Housing bubble wasn't caused by banks giving out money to people with terrible credit.... however housing bubble did cause people with good credit to have terrible credit due to foreclosure.
