where does this weird effect come from?

Hello Forum,

I was looking at my vacation photo's today and I noticed a weird green "light" dot on some of them. It can't be something on my lens or something 'cause it is presenet on both photo's from my iPhone and photos from my iPod...

How can I prefent this in the furure from happening?

Lens flare.  Happens when light bounces around in the lens elements.  Don't point at direct light and it won't happen.

Stop JJ Abrams from directing any new Star Trek movie, and be careful when aiming your lens towards a bright light source.
