Question!

HumbleMobo
Go to solution Solved by givingtnt,

I am slightly new to coding and I've noticed something.  When in HTML and you have tags and what not, how come when you stylize a page with the CSS, why is the default white?  With no color tags in CSS it defaults to white, I know this is a ridiculous question but does anyone have an answer to it?

because its a standart that text is displayed black on white. therefore the page is white and the text is black.

simple as that :)

because default is blank, and we most commonly associate blank with white. whether this is due in large to paper being white, or having been white for a very long time, or anything else i cannot say.

But blank is "white space" to us.

That and default is "blank"

Sorry for the confusion! I meant altar the background or html so it's different on start-up. Correct me if I'm wrong though. >.<

without any kind of css or other modification. just a plain basic html webpage ?

no that would be default. you need to specify the change if you want it to happen.

ew I've only changed background colors in my .html

I prefer CSS for the more detailed styling and for refining things, and use the general styling commands in my main document. Personal preference tho i guess.

yeah but it makes your page invalid to the w3c if you use html style css in the html
