best card for 3 1080p monitors ?

Go to solution Solved by Amazingasian,

R9 390

HI,

First of all I must say I don't have a great deal of money.

I'm looking for the best gpu solution (sli or single card)to run 3 monitor gaming at 1080p (22-27") I plan to start with three smaller monitors(21.5"-22") but wish to upgrade to 27" in the future without changing my system.

the games I want to play are(If supported):

Rust

Minecraft

The Forest

Stranded deep

Possible games I'd like to play(but not necessary):

GTA 5

Far-cry 4

The witcher 3

Mad Max

Thanks for your time :)

p.s I've spent a while looking for a solution but always get pointed to the gtx 980 which I don't have the money for

definitely 390 not the 390x since the higher price really isn't justified by the features.

390x. it does performs better than 390 i personally tested both of them and also the 970. 390x is toe to toe with 980 but cheaper. in battlefront it even performs better than 980 according to benchmark.

That word 'overclocked'... on an AMD Card.. I don't think I need to say anything more

You are making false statements. Overclocking on an AMD card is fine, temps are fine, power usage is fine, and every MHZ does more on an AMD card compared to nVidia.

Are you looking to Max out 60 fps while gaming on all 3 screens? Like play a game on 3 screens? Or multi task and play on one?

it doesnt matter what screen size you have

if your 21" monitor runs at 1920x1080.. it will use the same GPU power as 27" running at 1920x1080

If u wana play games on Max settings like witcher 3 with hairworks then a 980ti is good. 980 is cutting it close, it can't Max out games on 3 monitors. You'll need something the power of a 980ti for the future as well. A 980 won't cut it in the coming years if u want to Max out games

Too weak for 3x1920 x1080 if for example he plays fps games on 3 screens.

definitely 390 not the 390x since the higher price really isn't justified by the features.

a STOCK 980 is 5-10% faster then a STOCK 390X

a STOCK 390X is 10-15% faster then a STOCK 390

a STOCK 390 is 5-7% faster then a STOCK 970

a STOCK 980 is 15-20% faster then a STOCK 970

a 980 costs 500 USD

a 390X costs 400 USD

a 390 costs 300-320 USD

a 970 costs 190-320 USD

.... a 390X is 80-100 bucks more then a 390. gives 10-15% more performance.

No matter how much you OC, if a 1.2GHz 390 beats a 390X, then a 1.15GHz 390X will beat a 1.2GHz 390. Beacause it has MORE stream processors. It's like the argument that a 1.6GHz 970 will beat a 980. Sure, but a 1.3GHz 980 will still wipe the floor with that 1.6GHz 970.

It's within budget.  A 980+ would be best but it's too expensive.

You'd be looking at 50-55fps on one screen, 30-40 on 3
