Just gaming performance, i dont care about heat, noise, power consumption, what performs better?

GTX 960 or HD 7950?

7950 is the same chip as R9 280, so I would say they trade blows, but the 7950 slightly outpaces the 960 in some games.

I can get a 960 for 90$, and i currently have a 7950. I think ill buy the 960 and sell it.

The 960 is a piece of shit.

The HD 7950 was re-badged to the 280 in 2014.

 

The 280 beats the 960 in most cases performance wise.

 

Get the HD 7950 or R9 280.

You should only do this if you really need something for cool and quiet, play Nvidia preferred games or need Shadowplay..

Otherwise I wouldn't understand.

 

The 960 will most likely be 2GB too, so you will be losing 1GB..

Id have to get a new waterblock for that as im watercooling, so im going to stick with my 7950.

7950 is still great tho - I'm using the 280 as well - fine even with 2 monitors. #VRAMmasterrace

I wonder if the absurd amount of power phases on mine would result in a good OC. I'm kinda scared to try.

Get the HD 7950 or R9 280.

 

I would beg to differ about the 960 being shit.

I get ~300 FPS in most games with it (without recording), and can solidly record 1080p60 while playing 1080p60.
