I'll should be able to fully utilize my 970 shouldn't I? ;)

I can, you will too.

Tested - Forced to a locked 3.5Ghz (with or without idle declock enabled) my i5 (4690 non-K) with 99-100% GPU usage on 99% of my games (1% being shitty ports n bad PC games aka AC:Unity), the 3.9Ghz Turbo, a nice boost in itself,.. have it pegged at most of the time.

There are games that have higher than average CPU usage, GTA5 and BF4/Crysis3 in some parts, but the GPU never drops below expected performance levels, Intel have really strong i5's, and even with 80-90%+ used on all cores, I'm still sweet.

/I feel like I should make video's on declocking this modern quad as far as I can while still pulling 97-100% GPU usage in a suite of games.

4x 2.2Ghz = ??? GPU Usage

4x 2.6Ghz = ??? GPU Usage

4x 3.0Ghz = ??? GPU Usage

To show that even SUPER low end declocked i5's are capable of powering the mid-high range GTX970 fine. (To which I've never full-proof tested at such low clocks, but should to make sure)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Congrats dude, I wish I could justify upgrading from a 4790k. Those ASUS boards look really nice!

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo

Do intel chips heat up a lot? Could I slap a dual or tri rad on it and get a high overclock and it be stable?

Yeah I know, but I don't have it :/

Your gunna have a fun few months with this machine in the honeymoon period ;)

As far as temps - variable with a diff CPU but....

I had a Hyper212 strapped to my 4690 for a year, never topped 72*c at low-mid rpm fan settings.

Now have a simple 120mm single rad AIO, never gets past 61*c.

Previous PC was dual core Core 2 Duo E6600, 4GB DDR2 and AMD 4870 lol, and 320GB HDD

Also SSD is incredible
