new vga cable not detecting monitor

I juz bought a new vga cable.. though i am able to play games..but now this is happening.. with this new one ati control centre isint detecting my display.. wheares with the old cable it did.. and now inspite of my display being only 1366*768 it gives me option to go upto 1600*1200 please help.. how to solve this?

DVI to VGA Adapter? It should work. Which AOC Monitor do you have?

i already use adapter.. old vga cable detected fine.. this one fucked up,,, dunno why

What graphics card are you using? And is it a DVI > VGA cable? DP > VGA? Or what it is? And what monitor are you using?
