I am someone who likes to collect stuff, including console and handheld games. Going to thrift stores or flea markets and picking up some cheap games.

Sometimes I see a bin with PC games and I go through it, but I almost never pick anything in them though, because with games that are from 2007 or so and later I can't be sure if I can still play them. Because around that time they started giving keys with PC games, which you just have to use to download the game.

And with pre 2007 games, it's the other way around.. If it does install, I got it.. But I would rather have it on Steam at that point.

I picked up Morrowind for a euro yesterday, was able to install it, but I just felt like it was useless and I should just get the Steam GOTY version instead, because now I don't have Steam integration (like achievements and stuff) and not the DLC's..

That just makes me not get any second hand PC games, because I am never sure on this stuff. I only get them if it's cheap and the case and manual is cool (was the case with Morrowind).

I have a spreadsheet with all my console games in it, but I don't have my PC games documented because.. I am not sure what to document and what not to. Should I only include my physical games? Or Steam too? And what about the games that are digital activated..? So many questions..

So, what is your opinion on this?

I collect physical copies of things so the download shift we're in kills my collecting capabilities, so now I collect memorabilia, artwork, game figurines etc

Guess i'm one of those boring people that prefers Steam games because I don't have to worry about scratching disks, plus I save money and space.

I don't prefer Steam over physical or the other way around, I just like collecting. But hunting games at stores and flea markets vs. browsing G2A/Steam is not the same.

I collect physical copies of things so the download shift we're in kills my collecting capabilities, so now I collect memorabilia, artwork, game figurines etc

I still collect console and handheld, so I still can satisfy my collecting need ;)

Oh I'd love to buy only physical game copies but when you can save like 20eur per game....that adds up and I buy digital games. Sadly...

True.. I very very rarely buy physical copies of digital games (bought AC 1 and 2 for 1 euro a piece some time, both added to uPlay)

Couldn't agree more, having an xbox 360 and moving the xbox whilst there was a disc in, completely ruined games I know the feeling. The amount of physical effort too it takes to find the games and put them in(first world problems yo).
