Safety of a "scrapyard wars" build.

JayGhz

Basically i'm just wondering how well used hardware can actually hold up? Also i was wondering if there any quick/easy way to test how dependable a piece of hardware may be. (something that i could do when going to meet someone to look at their hardware) thanks for any insight you can provide. :D

It holds up

Just remember

13-exponentials-01.gif

A = $ value

Ao = Most recent price

T = years after release

H = 1 year

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

MOST of my gear was used until just a few years ago, when I could afford brand new parts. \

Unless extreme overclocking or other abuse, most is perfectly fine and no reason to not buy, beyond no longer having a warranty (in many cases - some HDDs have extended warranties, and RAM is usually lifetime).

even if it does explode. it won't be as bad as a lithium polymer battery explosion. test it in a garage or on concrete first if you're paranoid.
