I Helping My Friend Get His Build

So my friend is looking to upgrade his laptop into a desktop, he has a budget of 1000 (600 for build and 400 for peripherals). This desktop will mainly be used for gaming. He wanted me to put up these 2 builds on the forums too see which one is better and what can be improved.

I would recommend trading some of that peripheral budget for actual hardware, going intel CPU + mobo, and look at some different GPU options with the new balance

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Your builds are all over the place. In the second one you have a $10 SSD, and a $30 HDD? Why wouldn't that apply to the rest of them?

I'd go check out the used market if you're on a budget. You can pick up some great deals.
