Retro cpu upgrade

Hey guys.

So a friend of mine was asking me for what would be a good replacement for his P4 and i though something among the lines of an E6750 or similar (motherboard is compatible with core chips), he doesn't have much cash to spend on it.

Would he see a reasonable performance increase in games ? Games like FIFA 13, NBA ...

He gets about 30fps right now, he wants about 60.

yeah i think that he would get a good improvement a core 2 duo is still a good processor
