4k or 1440p

Hey guys im currently building a new rig and i cant decide. Should i have one 4k screen or should i go 3 3440x1440p monitors? 

Also if you guys could add a suggestion to the monitor resolution that you chose

i'd have the triple moniter setup b/c pure ashthetics it looks frisking awesome, also surround gaming, is so cool (kinda dizzy)

if competitive maybe a 1080p 144hz surround might be another option?

Three 21:9 1440p unless you're willing to squint at the 4K monitor. For productively purposes 21:9 1440p is more ideal.

considering that not even the titan x can play the most demanding games at ultra settings, 4k at 60fps (but 2 might  not anymore thougth), 1440p would be recommendable unless you don't intend play any new games.

I am a competitive gamer and casual. Really depends on the game.

I am basically looking for a smooth gaming experience no screen tearing and a high refresh rate.
