totes, back in my 1mbps days(sadly earlier this year) I had to leave my computers on 24/7 just to download things.

yhea, there's no problem with that! I would reccomend today's LTT video for further help with this "content" you will have downloaded

No problem leaving it on overnight, expect for adding a little bit to the power bill. But that's nothing to worry about.

No it's not safe, you're wasting huge amounts electricity and causing your hardware to degrade on a much significant rate.

totes, back in my 1mbps days(sadly earlier this year) I had to leave my computers on 24/7 just to download things.

8 hour download? Yeah it's fine. Back in my college days I would leave my old Gateway 2000 PC on overnight downloading files. 

 

Also, if your $7k PC can't handle an 8 hour download, then there is something seriously wrong with your machine.

I grew up with dial-up, anything that can be rated for mbps is fine for me . I do quite enjoy my 60/20 connection, the speeds is certainly appreciated.

Me too, I remember a time when nobody even had a PC at home, I really dont miss dialup, just for the flipping noise, .. also AOL CDs

I miss the excitement in the early days of dial up.

 

Internet isn't really a luxury anymore - that is how I felt when we first got it.

7K PC and not money for good internet? Your life must suck. Anyway, as long as you don't have overheating going on and all powersavings/auto-updates turned off its fine. Overheating shouldn't happen since its basicly idle whole time. But both powersavings and auto-update will be problematic. Since, you know, sleep/hibernation mode -> paused dl. And auto-update -> reboot -> stopped dl.

Where don't you see the SSD? I see a 1.2TB 750 series SSD.
