Going to be building a gaming pc with a MSI R9 380 G2 and a FX-6300, waiting for parts to arrive from Drirectcanada. I know most the major stuff, like you have to ground yourself so you dont go shorting out your components, test your components before putting them in a case, don't get mixed up between your CPU power and your PCI power etc.

Any little tips or tricks that you would want to to share? Stuff most people wouldn't think about.

Have a pair of tweezers on hand or something, dropping screws in small spaces isn't fun. I've heard some people say build naked so no static change builds up, bu if you do so don't get your dick caught in a fan.

WAITWAITWAITWAIT Have you already bought that 960? If no go 380 pls.

be very careful with the CPU since it has pins. They are very easy to break.

I think you'll be fine though :)

oh and cable manage as you build(even if the positions you choose wont be final)... so you can get it all planned out as to where you will route cables when you are done. Keep it as tidy as possible, at least in the front where the components are!

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Best price to performance. Mind you im up in Canada where prices are crap. So from me its the best price to performance.

His budget. Plus it should be fine :P

I dislike AMD for their pin interface, makes them so much more fragile hell AMD dosent cover if the pins get broken in their warranty. However for price to performance vs intel its the best option.

Yeah :D also, my question from earlier, I'm pretty sure R9 380s are cheaper than GTX 960s but still give roughly the same performance so take a look at those if you haven't already bought it.

In Canada they are the same price, and the R9 is about 15% faster. So got a MSI 380 G2

$350 for I5-4690K, for a FX-6300 $140, and it has 6 cores...
