Getting fit.

Hey there, as some people may know I'm getting slightly fat, bit of little hangover stuff, I'm personally fine with it, and so Is my girlfriend, but I want to get into better shape for her, so I need help starting out with home exercises, I don't know much about any of this and I don't want to go to a public gym so I'm fine buying weights and what not. I'm 16 and still attend school daily (par weekends) but my free time ranges from 4pm to 10pm (After 10pm is my chill time) I know I wont be working out for 6 Hours due to burning out, but basically, I would just like to know how to start out.

I would start out with making changes to your lifestyle rather than exercising more immediately. If you spend most of your free time sitting and on the computer, I'd try to improvise a comfortable standing desk option for you to use some of the time. I would also try to eat healthier food and walk further more than particularly just starting to work out.

If you are starting with weights, don't try to overdo it. Also, you may want to look into getting kettle bells of varying weights as they can be used for various exercises plus the obvious kettle bell swing.

Cardio + healthy eating

 

Diet is easily as if not more important than the exercise itself.

I managed to lose quite a bit of flab by just going jogging a few times a week. And planning my meals better

 

Oh and i stopped drinking soda. That probably made the biggest difference

Just go on jogs around your neighborhood.

 

Really helped my sister.

 

I shall do that, and for eating I do mainly eat healthier foods, salads and nighttime meals, I just eat a lot due to boredom snacking

Is bike riding a good exercise method?

It can be as long as you have a good route and a good bike and safety equipment, and it doesn't cause you any trouble. Try to work cycling into any commuting you would do generally instead of being driven or however else, unless you were walking in the first place in which case there would be very little reason to do so.

Any form of movement which raises your heartrate for an extended time is good cardio.

for 3 months

then u will be ripped

it also builds some dicipline

I used to ride my bike to and from school as it takes a good hour or so to walk to and from but my bike broke, I do have a bike again but I walk now instead.

Wouldn't be able too for 2 Hours due to school starting at 8:30am, and I wouldn't be able to shower and get to school for 8:30

The problem is, I can't run for that period of time, I have an extremely bad stamina and get stitches often, also I prefer biking due to a problem with my back

The problem is, I can't run for that period of time, I have an extremely bad stamina and get stitches often, also I prefer biking due to a problem with my back

A 20 minute bike ride (not coasting; actual pedaling) every other day in tandem with sensible eating is a good place to start.

Literally don't eat as much and eat healthier stuff. When I got braces it was a pain to eat anything so you eat way less. I used to eat half or more of a pizza now I can just barely eat 2 slices.  As long as you move for 60 minutes you don't need to work out. It is more of a pain to work out but this way you can do it and not have it get in your way. Also drinking lots of water helps flush your body out

Is bike riding a good exercise method?

 

Yes. That used to be all I did for exercise pretty much. I was a size 32 and went down to a 29 within a few weeks. Make sure you drink a lot of water.

 

I'm back to a 32 now but I'm being lazy. I need to go back to working out more.

Hey there, as some people may know I'm getting slightly fat, bit of little hangover stuff, I'm personally fine with it, and so Is my girlfriend, but I want to get into better shape for her, so I need help starting out with home exercises, I don't know much about any of this and I don't want to go to a public gym so I'm fine buying weights and what not. I'm 16 and still attend school daily (par weekends) but my free time ranges from 4pm to 10pm (After 10pm is my chill time) I know I wont be working out for 6 Hours due to burning out, but basically, I would just like to know how to start out.

 

Push bike, swimming, push ups, sit ups <- I got a six pack doing this, no gym needed and I barely used weights. I also drank loads of water, cut out fizzy pop, snacked on bananas and basically just ate right I had one cheat day per week which was the family chinese chippy tea.
