So I've been having a sound issue, contacted gigabyte they didn't know, they suggested testing outside the case so I did it a couple mins ago ran it and to my surprise the sound was gone ! But I wanted to load into windows to make sure so I plug in my keyboard and as soon as I plug the usb plug into the mobo the sound starts again :/..... so I tried every usb slot and the sound still continues, when I unplug the keyboard the sound stops, when I plug it in it starts, I have no idea what to do ? My keyboard is a k70 so its not a cheap thing and I really need this solved so any help would be great

You might want to try using the front panel USB header connected to your case, or maybe invest in a pci-e usb card. Sounds like it could be electrical interference bordering on a short or something.

but why wouldn't it happen for the mouse ? And front panel isn't an option, the pc is on my desk and it won't reach and it would look horrible

If you know the problem, why ask? I have a similar Motherboard and went through the same exact problem which is why I offered the help. I was placing my phone on the speaker while I used my computer. You also need Realtek downloaded off of Gigabytes website. There you can set the priority of the input. Make sure you don't have multiple channels at once. Say your headset and the speakers. This can create feedback.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

umm maybe I asked the question because I need a solution maybe ? And I stated the problem in the first post, I've already downloaded the latest driver from gigabytes website

Well then go out and buy a cheap usb keyboard like from Logitech. Try that out. If sound disappears then it's your K70. RMA your K70 for a replacement.

Keep the cheap keyboard on the side for backup use, when you need it.

OK, lets do this. Because you could be wrong. Happens to me all the time. It could be your keyboard, but if you were placing your phone on the speaker and not even thinking of it when diagnosing the problem, I saved you buying a keyboard. That's me the dick, trying to help.

Because I'm not there. I have no idea your set up, whats happening when your having the problem, or anything else needed to be exact. If I hadn't JUST had this issue I would have sailed on by, but I did. I would have told someone they were crazy that it was my phone until I realized it was. Certainty is the best way to have an unsolved problem.

I know I should have specified that my phone wasn't anywhere near my pc but again I stated many times that it only happened when I plugged in my keyboard and when I unplugged it it was fine, that's some pretty good evidence saying it's the keyboard, sorry to have come across as a dick

If I am not mistaken, your keyboard has two SUB  connectors. Are you suing both of them? Does anything change between using only one or both at the same time? There is also a switch for I believe BIOS compatibility. Try playing with that and of course when you flip it between the numbers 1-4 unplug and plug back in your keyboard. It's a long shot, but that it doesn't hurt to try.

If nothing helps, try contacting Corsair instead of buying a new keyboard. Explain the problem to them and discuss a potential RMA.

yes it does have 2 plugs but one is simply a pass through plug for a port on the keyboard which I have my mouse plugged into, the noise only appears when I plug in the the for the keyboard itself, the pass through port is fine and has no affect on it, I have narrowed the problem further to the back light on the keyboard, when the back light is off the noise is gone, when it's on the noise appears and gets louder as the back light gets brighter, I'll try the bios switch and let you know

edit: bios switch didnt do anything :/ on to contacting corsair

Definitely do that. Apparently there is some problem with the back light. I'm sure they will be able to help you out. :)
