what is my motherboard?

Go to solution Solved by hypnodog,

i5-4460 so yes? doesnt the k mean overclockable? it doesnt have a k :/ sry for my newb kind

The 4460 is a locked chip. All you can do to OC it is by messing with the FSB clock (which can cause all kinds of problems if OC'd). The mobo probably won't even let you mess with it, anyway.

How do I figure out what board I have. Its a pre built dell xps 12 or 13. It doesnt say on the site so I was just wondering how to find out?

Usually by looking at the giant text on the board that's the model number.

I don't think you can overclock on Dell computer because i know a fact their bios restrict you from messing the CPU and other stuffs.

You can also use CPU Z or Scisoft's Sandra to give you more component information. Laptops tend to be even more locked down as far as overclocking because thermal margins are so narrow. Don't be surprised if you can't do anything.
