390 vs 390x

Any real difference between these two cards? Might end up going with a 390 instead of the 390x if there isnt much of a performance difference.

Stock for stock R9 390x is about 10-15% more powerfull than R9 390 but if this performance increase is worth extra money its for you to decide.

For 1080p the R9 390 will be more than enough.

False. The 390 is a nerfed 390X in that a small part of the chip is disabled.

they all scale pretty much the same

that means if the 3990 performs better then so does the 390x

so the % difference is constant

More shader cores on the 390x. The card with the most value per dollar in the 390.
