What if i do this

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

wired will be fine, wireless will drop by a few Mbps, and temperatures will increase a lot, depending on what router/modem it is

I would not put it in a closed drawer

I would hide it behind something, behind the desk, or whatever as long as it gets airflow

Will my internet speed and Wi-Fi speed get worse if i put my router and modem in my drawer so they dont take free space and look ugly in my desk ?

Can this cause heat issues or something .... ?

They shouldn't, assuming your desk is made of wood that'll offer very little resistance to the signals.

WiFi: maybe a bit worse in speed and reliability.

Cable: it will only get a hit in performance if it overheats

Avoid:

A. Metal (also wire mesh)

B. Stone

C. Concrete

Normal walls don't hurt much.

I would hide it behind something large with lots of ventalation for the heat, or camoflage it.

Examples: behind the TV, up high on a tall shelf, behind flowers.

If its in a TV stand with a closed front door, you can always drill/cut out a hole in the back that is unseen to add airflow.
