I've got i5-4690, my friend has got FX-6300.

 

Friend: "You've got 4 cores, I've got 6, therefore mine is better."

I knew one Intel/Nvidia fanboy, he would constantly rag on AMD/ATi and yet he had never owned an AMD CPU or ATi GPU. Only ever owned Nvidia & Intel and refused to ever touch anything that sported AMD, no matter what evidence you ever provided him he would get all shitty and just call them shit. Then again he's the same person who bought an unlocked i7, AIO cooler & GTX 680 all to play Minecraft & WoW and not overclock the CPU or do anything that would actually utilise its ability.

That seems like the idiot friend that i have.....except he's a idiot when he bought 4 980s and he could do 4 way SLI because of the 5820K with 20 PCIE lanes.

When I was upgrading my PC I bought a 780ti to go in SLI with my original one, long story short they ended up sending a 780 and refusing to refund me, so I ended up buying another 780ti and had the 780 going spare.. I offered it to a friend of mine who had a AMD HD 7770 at the time, he refused it because he was against Nvidia. He still bitches about not being able to play GTA V at a decent FPS...

Most AMD fans actually think AMD make good components which is pretty funny in my opinion.

Going borderline insulting again. Please stop starting flame wars.

A crap experience for me is getting people who try to convince me a CX600 is fine to run a 5820K and 980 SLI because it's Corsair ._.

fuck people - why do you insist on buying allahu akbar to power your damn system >.<

My by far worst experience is with a user who got banned for starting flame wars, all because he was butthurt about his 970 having the memory issue. So what he did was he would make thread after thread about it and get super pissed when everyone just told him the hard truth. (He also got pissed when he discovered his PSU choice was crappy - not CX bad but still bad) He would simply end up insulting everyone he could and go on a rampage.

"AMD are hot and loud!" proceeds to buy a GTX 480 (that actually happened to an acquaintance of a friend - it's VRMs burned out in about half a year of working @ 102*C in Crysis 2)

I did have a phenom 2 quad core and an athlon x2. But I did come late to the game by the time I had these cpu's the core i7 was out just out of my price range.

Phenom II was good competition to the original core i* series. 1100T was as good as the 2500K so that's fine.

Athlon X2 was by far superior to Pentium 4. Nobody denies that :D

What's the point  in being a fanboy over any company like what do they give in return they don't exactly come round your house for a cup of tea that would just be weird, AMD and intel would die without each other same for AMD and Nvidia competition is what keeps a company alive, I buy hardware on what provides me with the performance I need, I have had problems with AMD in the past mostly heat issues with my 6950 which ended up killing the card but I have had problems with Nvidia as well my GTX580 started making the screen flicker pink and floors would be missing from games etc. I have AMD in my media PC it sits nicely next to the TV and makes hardly any noise but I have bought third party coolers for it, my intel workstation/gaming rig on the other hand is giving me all sorts of problems at the moment (First time SLI setup and it's not going well) Get what works for you sound like AMD might be upping their game with CPU's next year I am interested to see how it goes. :D

My GTX580 was a stupid card it would idle at 40C on watercooling I thought it would be and upgrade over my GTX560 that didn't have waterblock support how wrong was I lol my GTX560 died as well it didn't like being stressed out even at stock the slightest bit of 3d acceleration and it would crash windows. no company is perfect it's the same with Asus and Acer with monitor they both have shockingly bad QC problems
