fallout - keyboard vs controller?

im probably going to play fallout for the first time when 4 comes out and i want to know if its best played on keyboard/mouse or controller. anyone have experience with both?

Just use whatever you are comfortable with tbh. I prefer kb/m for first person games and third person games, I only really use a controller on platformers or racing games. did you play fallout 3 with a controller or kb/m?

Well, as I understand, Fallout 4's had a hand in development from the guys over at id Software, so that should make the gunplay less sloppy than the prior instalments.

 

As for control schemes......I honestly have not noticed a difference, especially for New Vegas, given how I've played both the PS3 and PC versions.

 

To be honest, though, the game's not massively different on either side, I haven't noticed...they don't exactly look great and their gunplay is rather spotty, so really, until 4 comes out with reportedly proper first person gunplay by id, either is as good/bad as the other.

i prefer controller but my mods in fonv are not letting me use one normally I would say kb/m but fallouts 1st person shooter system is very poor and im pretty sure it works on a dice roll system rather then how you are actually aimming, If thats true as long as you are aiming close enough it works.

i will say the nice thing is that you can autowalk on kb/mouse like an MMO

Fallout fucking SUCKS on controllers. Movement is horrible, aiming is horrible.

Played just fine with controller, Fallout has massive deviation unless you use cheats.

I started Fallout 3 with a controller when it first released on Xbox, but when I got it on PC and tried keyboard/mouse the game got a lot better for me.

 

So, I prefer keyboard/mouse, but you might like controller.
