Is the Fury X crossfire worth it for 1440p and higher?

Profoundsoup

I'd say 390(X) Crossfire would be better because of the VRAM.

The Fury series of cards are show cards.

They are all over priced.

But I mean crossfire scaling is crazy good

It really depends on the game and resolution. I've used well over 4GB of VRAM with VSR on my 390.

they actually perform beastly well for being small cards like that.

and well... however you turn it, the fury X is still AMD's best performing card.

They are awesome and compact.

But they are expensive.

I feel that compact cards is the way to go and I praise AMD for that.

BUT they are over priced compared with the 980ti.

(Performance wise)

Hell my x2 970's will run most everything in 1440.

I get 65-70fps in witcher 3

Higher frame rate over higher resolution.

It really depends on the game. Most games will be fine with 4 gbs but there are exceptions.

"This just shows that 4GB of VRAM is limiting performance on R9 Fury X in this game, making it perform closer to R9 290X than GTX 980 Ti like it should be, and this is just 1440p."

Nope, GTX 980 Ti SLI would be better because you wouldn't have to deal with the radiator spacing and placement.
