Which GPU for 1080p Max Settings Gaming?

Khajiit Dealer

Up to you mate. I had two 770's in SLI and I ended up selling them to get a 980, even though the 980 has just a tad bit more performance.

Hmm...I'm strongly leaning towards the 980 Ti but I've heard the card runs hot. Is there a 980 Ti near $650 that stays below 70C while playing demanding games? I'm looking for cards without any sort of cooler needed.

Performance expert, building noob.

There is no such thing as excess in hardware.

It's going to run warm on air no matter what you do. You don't really need to worry about the temperature unless you don't have air conditioning in your house.

For 1080P, unless 144hz, you're literally choking the potential of a 980 TI.

Depends on your airflow and fan profile. And I don't think you can find a card without any sort of cooler needed.... Oh and please change your psu. Since you worry about degrading components.

My specs are:

i7 3770k @3.5ghz

16gb DDR3 RAM

Corsair CX750W PSU

Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H ATX Motherboard

128GB SSD, 1TB HDD

I currently have 2 660 Ti's in my computer but it can't run demanding games like Witcher 3 or GTA V at even close to max settings.

What GPU would be good for my setup? I've been eyeing the 980 Ti but it's quite pricey.

P.S. I prefer Nvidia.

It's really simple!

Step 1: Ditch the "I prefer nvidia" thing

Step 2: Buy an R9 390

Step 3: Thank me later

:D

Go for ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB DDR5. Play all games at 1080p with max settings.
