What are your thought on XFX as a brand? (GPU's only)

KarateHottie93

They used to have a very respected reutation when they first became AMD exclusive. It seems to have declined in the past couple of years though. When I made that poll about brands that you'd consider premium(from your own experiences), I expected them to be considered in the same light as Gigabyte as in great running cards that generally feel a little cheaper on the outside compared to some of their rivals.

I think a lot of that though may have had to do with the fact that just not as many people buy AMD, and most who do get Sapphire, ASUS, MSI, or GIGABYTE. Please share your thoughts on them. Personally for me if I go AMD and it's not Sapphire, it's always XFX.

Personally I think you hit the nail on the head with that description. They're a tier better than stock, but generally are not that great in terms of overall quality or performance. I think they're a bit meh, and aesthetically they aren't pleasing to my eye.

If I were living in the 50s, then sure, their coolers would look nice, but then I'd just go for an Nvidia card because... well, that impeller cap!

I hate their cooler design, performance, and acoustics. If I can, I would never rec a xfx gpu.

Their cooler runs super hot, even a 270X runs at 85c under stander load in a pretty cool room and it's LOUD . Quality is sub-par overall, RMA is decent though.

They do have the highest rated 390 on Newegg by far though :)

5 stars out of 21 reviews so hopefully their quality is getting better.

Edit:

Wow, it's even the highest rated and most sold on Amazon too.

5 stars out of 28 reviews O.o

My 6600GT and 8600GT was from XFX and it looks decent. Do they still have the lifetime warranty? Reason I got them back then was because of that.

My only concern with XFX is their warranty support. They're not known to have good warranty support in my region.

When I had my 295x2 it seemed pretty solid. I think in between manufacturers, they're about the same. It just boils down to how much warranty they can cover and after market cooler fans, which is Sapphire on AMD side and EVGA on nvidia.
