I have to write a slam poem for school and present it.

Would me writing a poem about there being no god be too controversial?

I think it might be...

Also, any other ideas?

You could easily write one that if there was a god, he is shit, you know, wars etc.

 

You just have to find something that has multiple points about that you can say quickly. You can't explain the monkey-typewriter proverbial analogy thing in one sentence without creating a boring poem.

To be serious though, make slam poetry a canvas for your imagination

Is there anyone in your class that is highly religious? They probably will take offence to someone sayings there's no god if they're not open to other people's opinions like that. 

 

Anything else you could do instead?

Im not sure.

I really like reading and writing poetry, just write about whatever you have feelings about. And don't worry if you think its good or not, its your own! But poetry is not a means to argue. So if you want to tell people that there is no god, then poetry isn't really the proper way to do it. If you have deep rooted emotions and feeling about why you don't believe in god then use that. Just don't try to argue with people :)

 

Edit: I'm pretty religious and someone doing a slam poem about why they don't believe in god wouldn't bother me
