So you've got all your parts picked out

Storage I guess. I have a 256GB SSD, 60GB SSD from laptop and the 300GB HHD that used to be in it before the SSD. However, if I ever need more storage I can go and get more.

I wouldn't enjoy skimping on anything, but if I were building a gaming rig the first two things I'd save money on would be the case and storage. Those are the two things that have the least effect on performance for that purpose.

Case: Fractal Design Define R3 | MoBo: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 | CPU: Intel Core i5 3570k @ 4.6GHz | CPU Heatsink: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO | GPU: MSI R9 280X @ 1150/1700  | RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR3 @ 1600MHz | Sound Card: ASUS Xonar DG | SSD: Crucial M4 128GB | HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB (WD1001FALS)

Skimping out on a case has very little impact on the PC performance in most cases (no pun intended). So yeah......I'd still want a nice case though.

I'd skimp on storage on the initial build, adding more storage (I mean SSD or HDD storage) is so easy. A build with a HDD might not be as snappy as a build with a SSD and HDD but the slowdowns in performance aren't aggravating compared to say a woefully under powered video card or low amount of RAM. And a smaller drive won't fill up instantly and there is time to prepare for a new drive purchase while still having acceptable performance.

The cake is a lie!!! -- but the muffins are genuine.

I would simply wait and save the money until I would not have to skimp out on anything, patience always wins out in the end! (:

Cheers,

If the case is very bling bling, I'd start there. Then probably storage size if I'm over killing it. After that MAYBE motherboard. Or just wait.

You prefer having debts than a "crap" pc?

You have your priorities set wrong if you consider $30 debt. If you skimp on something, it doesn't mean your build will be HEAPS cheaper.

There are always affordable cases out there that get the job done.  HAF 912 was good to me and for my son I got him the Antec 1100 for $60+ so I think it is possible to get good cases without blowing your brains out in terms of how much you spend.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

I got a crap cooler master PSU, it's ok but coil wines a lot. I also got a cheap asus motherboard which I only figured out won't overclock that well a couple days after the return period.

I'm a 100% performance guy. Casing provides no performance? I could do with no casing then.

I guess motherboard? I'm not a massive overclocker, just as long as it's pretty! :D however I never buy a PC all at once, I'll buy over time, for example when I upgraded from a athlon 2 to my 2500k I already had the rest of a TV. so I'd rather wait than skimp on a part.
