If you are looking for a free option, Hitfilm 3 Express seems to work, I haven't used it extensively but it promises to be powerful and you can even do special effects and actions like Lightsabers or gunshots.
There is also Hitfilm 3 Pro which costs something, but it does allow for greater flexibility such as 3D rendering using the GPU.

Those are two I wish I had found 2 years ago...

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

If $300 is out of the range, then you can get this.

It's a gimped version of Vegas Pro 13 but it'll most definitely work for what you need it.

Pretty sure they also sell it on Steam, too.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

i might start out with the cheaper one and then turn to vegas pro when i have made a little more money and when im not upgrading my computer (which is what i am focusing my money on right now)

I know where you can get premiere pro CS2 for free (legally too!)

Adobe product download links: (Through adobe's site)

CS2 https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html

CS3 https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs3-product-downloads.html

CS4 https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs4-product-downloads.html

CS5 https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-product-downloads.html

CS5.5 https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-5-product-downloads.html

CS6 https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html

I know that CS2 stuff is free, though the rest of it you'll have to find a license or "activate" it with other methods.

It's probably going to make you log in or register to view the CS2 page, though the others shouldn't require it.
