ive seen a few people do an outside the case build and test to make sure the parts work before putting it inside the case but they use the stock fan but i dont have anyway of removing the thermal paste from the cpu after words so i was wondering if i should just go straight into building it inside the case and just take the risk something isnt working properly? help plz

You can still use the aftermarket cooler outside the case. + I've never actually done it :|

but it wouldnt make a difference if i just put in the case right away right? i mean i know it will be more of a hassle getting parts out but it doesnt change anything right?

Most of the time parts work fine anyway, you should be good

You don't have like windex or literally any low-residue organic cleaner?

I did both. If it doesn't work you will be extremely pleased you tried outside the case, if it works then you will be annoyed that you bothered setting it up separately.

It's kinda just the way this works, either way its a choice to be made.

if you want to wipe the paste off, just use a paper towel. It will take off enough of the paste to where it wont matter. Also WD-40 takes TIM off and GOO GONE... OMG. That stuff removed even DELL's thermal "weld"

I just use a damp cloth and my shirt to remove paste, it will be fine if that's all you have.

i do ALL my builds outside the case prior to casing it, i do a lot of client and friend builds though. some of which are watercooled so i find getting in the habit of building outside the case is a great one to get into however for an all air cooled system testing in the case is all good. the only time its really gonna suck is if its the mobo that fails which is a pain in the ass to pull out. otherwise i find everything comes out easily enough that even if you do the first testing in case its not a big deal
