380 if same or similar price.

That said where I am I haven't seen 380s below 220 (all of the reputable brands that is) or so, 960s I've seen in the 170-199 dollar range and 950s I've seen around 140-170 dollars.

For that price set, well it's hard to say.

I'd still probably grab a 380 but a 80 dollar price difference between the 950 and the 380 is pretty tempting if I were to only be doing htpc or 720p gaming.

But hey, I'm a dude with a 3k dollar computer setup so me judging the low end of hardware is difficult.

You're right. It isn't helpful to anyone to make a note that my perspective on the value of money when it comes to computer parts might not be inline with the OP (given that he/she was looking a a much much cheaper card) before just taking any advice I may or may not have.

xD not really. I am perfectly happy with mine. Makes wife happy too. She sometimes borrows it so much that I am often forced to remind her that I also need it for other functions. I swear, if she didn't use it ao much , reboots would be much faster when needed...

Doesn't change the fact the 290 will steamroll a 960 for the same price in this case.
