I'm not sure if I'm the only one who has noticed this but the home page of LTT uses an awful amount of CPU usage when it's at the top of the page. I've tested this on 3 different computers too, same thing, higher cpu usage at top of page.

For me it uses ~25% of the CPU. If I scroll down near the bottom, it uses ~10%. Here's some comparisons:

 

Watching videos on YouTube @ 720p -- ~7%

Watching a Twitch live stream on "Source" quality with over 100k watching -- ~15%

YouTube homepage -- ~4%

Plug.dj with 50 animated objects -- ~7%

Reddit front page -- ~2%

Playing the Hello Run html5 game with music, full screen. -- ~8%

 

So then, what's up with LTT's home page near the top? Why the resource usage?

On the LTT forum with multiple tabs open from other websites. 2% total CPU usage. Tops 7%

Its our anti console mode, so console visitors won't be able to access the page due to crappy CPUs #PCMR

Which i think are on par with FX IPC wise.. so that don't say much, i'm being cheeky, but i assume your CPU deals with stuff differently due to it's retarded architecture.

It changes nothing at all for me.

especially, avatar images (using full size as the page "shrinks" the size). some are

very complex in image size and resolution.

heh

i think i know who this is aimed at

OFF TOPIC: I suggest every poll from now on to have "**CK EA" option instead of "Other"

10 tabs open, getting about 5% usage regardless of where I am on the page.

It does seem to be the gifs that are causing it. My cpu went from 25 to ~12% on the home page but there's still a different between the top of the page (probably with more gifs) vs the bottom where I'm getting ~7%

I know this is off topic, but that seems to be what happened to this thread anyway; why is it when we are comparing cpus, we automatically go to the "gaming" category which then becomes an argument.
