The Fx-6300 is only as great as they say once you OC it. I would rather see you rocking the A10-kaveri APU than the FX.

I think I would go ahead and get an H97 board, just so there is no chance of compatibility issues. 

 

maybe change the ram, just so you can get all parts from the same place. i see everything is from superbiiz cept the memory.

 

if you have the ability to do so... you could Scrapyard a $200 Graphics Card from your local area, if possible. to maximize FPS.

I would pick FX-6300 over i3 any day, its not that it does not work its just that the FX is a better pick. If I had to upgrade later then I would gotten the Pentium and upgraded to i5 later...  (but Pentium is terrible!)
