So i have been watercooling for 1-2 years first of i had some corsair one i don't remember then the krake x61 and then the kelvin s36 (btw i love the s36!)all of thoose i got so i could overclock. And now i have a fully custom watercooled system. Wich i got cause of three reasons: it preforms better and it looks awesome and of course OVERCLOCKING!!!!!! And i wish i would have gone custom loooooong ago! But i have a question for you: why do you watercool? Is it cause it looks good or for performance?

Cooler temperatures and quieter system -- given enough radiator space you can undervolt the fans and really quiet things down.

It's also a fun project. It requires time, patience, planning -- okay, and money -- along with research to learn what you need in order to build it out. You can go elaborate or simple. Hard tubing and the trials it can bring, or soft tubing if you want something easier to build. What's really fun is when you're doing something few others have. For example I recently converted my loop over to use an external pump/reservoir mount and will soon be converting it to have the radiators external as well, and in water cooling the VRMs I had to buy a copper plate and drill out mounting holes to use as a heat transfer plate for a Koolance MVR-100.

  1. Overclocking
  2. Looks

I started watercooling due to the heat my system produced while attempting 5ghz, it's not possible with air unless you want to cram 20+ fans in a case, It looks better than having a massive heatsink in the middle of your case too I think, although that is down to taste. Next on my list is a tube res, gpu waterblock and hardline tubing.

I did it for Aesthetics. Yes, it brought the noise level and temperatures down and allowed me to get the most out of my system without using LN2, but that's hardly enough to justify an $800-$1000 W/C loop I had xD. Since then though I've had to sell my PC and build a more 'Sensible' workstation now that I'm entering the adult world of work -_-

I've still thrown in a Corsair H105 and noctua fans because I think it just plain looks better. Waiting on Noctuas project chromax and Cablemod cables to be in stock at the moment to finish off the Aesthetics. :D

I think it's because it's fun and exciting. Building something completely custom to suit your needs and wants. You can make it look however you want and there's lots of choices on parts. It costs a lot and whether it's worth the time or money is subjective. There are also AIO systems that are safe and quick for effective cooling and overclocking.

Almost a requirement to get the most out of an extreme edition, especially when its being used as rendering device for long periods of time.
Don't mind the aesthetics of the kelvin s36 either, just wish its pump was a little quieter.

"The wheel?" "No thanks, I'll walk, its more natural" - thus was the beginning of the doom of the Human race.
