GPU at 100% load on idle

Hi,

I just recently got this problem on my computer, my GPU is running very hot and loud on desktop, I looked at MSI Afterburner and the GPU is under full load. This was before the GeForce experience Windows 10 update. I updated and I was fine for exactly 24 hours and than the problem surfaced again. I checked Anti Malvare and nothing, I manually checked for suspicious background activities, nothing, and searched for bit mining virus manually, nothing. What Should I do?

bad thermal paste does not make a GPU go to 100% for no reason...

Why would it overheat? The cooler is fine.

If the problem still comes back I would suggest doing a fresh install even. That or look for programs with networking activity after it re-appears, that way you might find the mining malware.

AFAIK no virus protection yet will scan the Vram for viruses, so those are going to be a bit useless...

If it isn't working absolutely perfectly, according to all your assumptions, it is broken.

well then

he's using windows 10

probably drivers then

The problem is back and I found the source. An exe bitcoin mining software called "sgminer.exe".

I havent installed anything recently so it must have been around for a while on my computer.

It is a very sophisticated software as if the GPU gets under load by the user whith eg. a game it gives over the processing power so the user wouldn't notice a thing.

post-68380-0-48289800-1441309092.png

However since it has a very close relation whith the GPU my clean intalll of the GeForce experience the code and files were corrupted so the software got a memory leak, it started using a lot of CPU power for that and it got recognised immediatelly. It was shining brite like a diamond with lots of Windows warning messeges, 100% of ram, cpu and gpu usage, it overvhelmed my PC in 3.5 hours and the visual output was compromised.

post-68380-0-75352600-1441309099_thumb.p

After looking in the soure of this I found that there is a CPUminer and a GPU miner softwere separatelly but since the CPU miner is not corrupted yet it doesn't show up anywhere.

The uninstall button seems to work, everything is fine sice.
