FBI or CIA?
 
I was a police officer and now I am switching my goals to be a federal agent after I graduate with a 6 year degree from college. Which do you think would be better (hugely different requirements). FBI would require a science degree and more LEO experience. CIA I could apply with my current degree program and I have enough experience. Although FBI I would not have to relocate, CIA I would. What are your thoughts? Or maybe another federal police job? 

 

What college do you go to? I wouldn't choose any of those (FBI or CIA) if I had the option.

Part A. No thanks, student records are too easy to find. B. I am already in Law Enforcement it is the next logical step in my career.

Stay away from the CIA in my opinion. 

 

If i was already in law enforcement i think i would want to climb up through the ranks, detective and so on, maybe do a psychology degree on the side get into profiling and use that to make the transition to the FBI. I would rather be helping my own country, my own citizens, to help catch real clear and present dangers to the community in real time than playing shadow wars for other peoples politics.

I don't think any are bad options. I'd personally go for whatever that grants you a higher possibility of promotion, if the moving part is not relevant.

I would say neither.

 

We need less people working for the federal government, not more. Nothing personal, we just need them to have less manpower so that they eventually collapse and maybe, just MAYBE, we can fix some things.....someday.
