Hey guys, so I made a thread earlier about my new PC and inadequately explained some parts and the purpose of the PC.

This Rig is meant to be all-around (Gaming, Rendering, and School Work for College)

Let me know what you think of it. Yes it's a prebuilt *gasp*

Hard Drive: 2TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDD

Cooling: Enermax TB Silence UCTB14 140mm Performance Cooling with Low Noise Profile Fan

If my PSU were to die and take my computer with it, it's covered for the first year so I'm not too worried about it (my PSU is middle of the line, not terrible but not great)

Only thing that urks me is that very small solid state drive. Everything else i see seems to be top notch stuff.

That seems to be what people point out the most. I took a small one to save money and because I only want to run my OS on it while my E disk (2TB Hard Drive) handles storing and running games.

Looks really good :)

Would kill mine in most tasks thats for sure lol :P

Why such a small SSD

Linus pretty much explains my philosophy on SSDs vs. Hard drives here:

Essentially, I can get more storage and bang for my buck with a hard drive as opposed to a larger SSD, so I decided to go with a small one with the strict purpose of running my OS

Thanks for the offer lad, but I think I'll pass

What do you want us to compare it too? NSA's supercomputer or my old laptop?

Compared to what you consider an 'average' rig.

What kind of rendering? If it's Premiere/Lightroom rendering, 16gb of ram isn't necessary. Boost in speed in those environments can be better had from bigger SSD's (need faster scratchdisk space) methinks

i5 4670k | Noctua NH0-U12S | Asus Z97M Plus | Kingston HyperX Fury 8gb | Palit GTX 980 Ti Super Jetstream 6G | Samsung 850 EVO 250gb

WD Caviar Blue 1tb | Seasonic M12II 850W | Fractal Design Define R5 | Dell U3014 1600p 30" 60Hz

Corsair K65 | Razer Orochi | Bose QuietComfort 15 | Creative SBS A350 2.1

Youll see some load time gains if installing games on ssd :D aha

But its all preference could just wait till price drops then upgrade to massive ssds aha

Sony Vegas Pro rendering. I also plan on recording and running some programs in the backround while gaming, hence the RAM and CPU.

Believe it or not, there is no Frame Rate difference between an SSD and HD.

I will definitely upgrade once they get cheaper in a few years, but for now I think this was the financially smart thing to do.

True, but I can handle waiting a little longer if it means I'm not spending an extra couple hundred bucks  :P
